Insomnia

For many years I have had insomnia. However, since I started the 90 Day Challenge, I have all of a sudden, been sleeping like a rock! So, I did some research. 

I'm always looking into more knowledge regarding medical concerns, new procedures, and researching new drugs when they are prescribed. I want to know that I'm on top of my game, and I'm able to answer questions, or know what's available to my patients... Keep in mind, we nurses are not always so hip on taking care of ourselves, but totally focused on others we care for.

For starters, my right side of the heart was flooding the left side of my heart. Blood pressure meds took control of that fairly quickly. However, then I began to retain more and more fluid. So, he started me on Lasix. I then began having stomach concerns again. So, it's now Prilosec twice daily. Started the BodyByVi 12 days ago. Knowing what fruits and vegetables were high in antioxidants, I started making my shakes with those high in antioxidants, and adding a workout twice a day vs no working out. 

By doing this. I have increased the serotonin reuptake to click my brain into knowing the body is tired, and needs rest. Giving me the ability to not require 10mg of Valium before bed. I'm down to 5mg before bed. That's even better. For someone that has needed Valium since 2005. Not just to sleep, but for muscle spasm, anxiety, and migraines. 

I have had more migraines lately. To be expected due to the fact that seasons are changing and I do not have an immune system. Barometric pressure playa a huge role migraines. There is nothing worse than one, having a migraine. Two, placing a Valium under your tongue is majorly gross, but fast acting to your migraines. Thank the good Lord above for looking over me. I do not like having migraines, because it takes me to a while to come out or it. Sometimes, 7 days! Believe me, there is nothing more miserable than not getting enough sleep, and the weather ending you up with a migraine. I've tried everything new out there. They still keep taking me back to the old meds...... 

With working out at night. Creating that release of serotonin, and learning to relax AND drink a bottle of water. My sleep is completely back into a pattern. Waking up is rough. I'm stiff, and I do hurt. I work through that with my pain meds, then make my Vi-Shake, and the energy is just been unbelievable. Ladies at work have asked me what's wrong. There's nothing wrong. I just have much more energy than I did. With my disease processes, the pain will never go away. However, if I can do something to get healthier. Then I'm going to do it. I have been doing it. I'm sleeping better, I'm feeling better. My weight loss may be slow. That's just fine by me! The inches are reducing more quickly. That's even more perfect. 

I've always been a thick lady. That will never change. I can be healthier, and try my best to stronger. Only the will of what God has planned out for me is what will be. In the meantime, because no one knows the plans set out for us. It is my desire to place my body into the healthiest state at the age of 41, that I can. If I can do this and make small progresses as I am. Anyone can! 

I took this program to my doctor before I started it. He researched it, and on our last visit, said to try it. He gave me his approval and I go back in 3 weeks, to give him a report, and he's going to draw labs. I quit taking my potassium pills a week ago. I feel better. The labs will tell the truth. The more pills I can eliminate out of my life? The happier I will be. 

Not everything can be cured with a pill. Most doctors feel that's the only way. Most people give in and say ok. I'm not that type of person. So,my next goal is to rid the blood pressure meds... I believe I'll make this goal.
