Reflection

As Christmas passes by, many stressors on my mind. Only one thing that I can reflect upon to make that stress less. My children. 

My 20 yr old son is leaving tomorrow. Moving to Pittsburgh for several good reasons. All positive. However, hard as it is to watch, I know it is all meant to be for him. I'm proud of him. Yet, I cry. Knowing this child took 25 1/2 hours to get into this world, and grew up right in front of me so quickly. Reflecton is key to motivation. 

My family has taken in my daughters best friend. Mother kicked her out. As a Nurse, I couldn't and wouldn't watch this happen. 17 yrs old, and the child only asks to be loved. She's a good kid, works, and is being shown how to save, communicate, and enjoy a family life. I've been reflecting back on when I met this child. Shy, and very insecure. Now? She is glowing, smiling all the time, and she knows that she will see "I love you, have a good day" every morning. As well as, every night she hears "I love you, sleep well." Teenagers are just that. Rough time, but you never throw your child out. Love your kids. Tell them how much they are loved. It's not always about what you buy them, do for them. It's about what you say to them and mean. Show love in hugs, and teaching them to speak respectable. She is a highlight to my life. 

Looking at my daughter over Christmas. Thinking back to when she was born. How I held her to my chest and promised her that I will not ever let anyone hurt her or harm her. Not thinking then that you can't be by their side all the time. I failed my child the day she was in a car accident. What I do know, that she doesn't believe. She's strong on the outside and begging for help on the inside. I love my daughter and she is my ultimate world. She has this laugh that is contagious, and tears as big as crockidiles. Only time will heal, and her faith in God is much stronger than mine. She will prevail, and even though I may feel helpless at times? I'm not. Simple talking, and listening are key. 

My youngest son. Oh my! The child that makes me laugh everyday. Handsome man and he has a new love.... Girls! We have had our hard times. When he was little. He didn't have to do a whole lot for himself. Why? He had an older brother and sister that did it all. Even spoke for him. The most favorite memory.. Him in a high chair, eating donuts. My daughter and son sitting at the table as well. My oldest is done, and I'm cleaning him up. I come back and the last of the donuts are gone. When asking where the donuts went? My daughter blames her younger brother (who's in a high chair) for taking the last of the donuts... Have to love his sister. She did that a lot. He's still meek and mild. He's 15. Has a girlfriend, and is an absolute Mommys Boy! 

Time flies when you have kids. You want the best for your children. Children don't come with instruction manuals. If they did? We would have all "perfect" kids in this world. We are all created equal, brought up to live, laying and love. Some don't have a fighting chance and live in pure survival mode. Parents, please take the time to spend with your kids. You only get one chance for memories. Make them good. Do everything you can to do for them all that they ask for. You may be so wrapped up into yourself, work, other issues and completely miss what was vitally important to them. Communicate, and hug them. Remember, don't go to bed at night without telling them that you love them.

There's Time!

Adult Obesity On The Rise.... Why!

Sitting at school the other day. Waiting to pick up my child. I observed, what appeared to be the most overwhelming site, that was unimaginable to my eyes. Grouped in 3's and 4's, as average kids do. 2-3 of those in the group were obese. Time for me to do some research of my own. Here is what I found. 

Those born in the years 1995-1996, have major issues with depression and thoughts of suicide. On average, in speaking with a group of Teens born in this area. They feel that suicide is selfish. Even though they think about it. They turn to food and games instead. Helps them leave the reality of what is truly bothering them. It was amazing to me, just how serious this age group is about how "messed up" they believe their parents are. Knowing they are teenagers. I believe that parents are truly not taking the time to LISTEN to their children. I understand that we parents are busy trying to survive and get these kids not only through school, but college too. Plus keep food on the table and a roof over their head. That's difficult these days, and we have to trim the fat somewhere. Where we are not trimming the fat is in the kitchen. It's the easiest place to start. I'll explain towards the end of my blog. 

Here is what interested me even further. Per the CDC.... 1/3 Plus of US Adults are obese. That's outlandish! Here's what really brought an eyebrow up. As a Nurse myself, and moving up in my career. Estimated Annual Medical Costs for Treating Obesity for 2008? $147 Billion! That means that the Average cost to treat Obesity Health Issues on average are $1500 higher per Obese person that those who are taking the Healrhy approach. So, why are we doing these things to our body? 

Being Obese comes with a hefty price. Obese Adults are more than 90% prone to Hypertention (High Blood Pressure) Heart Atrack, Stroke & Type 2 Diabetes. All because you have not treated the issues at hand. What's causing you to be Obese? If you have ever looked at your Drs face when you go to see them. They no longer discuss your weight do they. Why? They don't hear you asking to change. And they don't see you alone, trying to change. When they do? They support you. 

This bothered me more than ever. Missouri, 1985 to 2010 has risen in Obesity 30.5% in Adult Obesity. 

So, why are our children following in our path. Because we as Adults are not taking the Challenge to change the ways. We are wrapped up in our issues, causing our children to "not care", "be rebellious", and most definitely feel like they are worth nothing so why live? 

It's time to make that change. When are you going to speak to your child and join them in this fight? 

Helping Others

Christmas is the time of year to spread the Love of your heart to others. That is exactly what our family is doing. We are taking all our profits from BeautiControl Sales, for Christmas, and giving it to our Local Wentzville MO Food Pantry. 

There was a time in my life, when I needed the help. I was new to the area. Trying to find a job, and my kids? I couldn't let them suffer due to my inability to acquire a job in a certain amount of time. But, through the local services of the Food Pantry. They assisted me to not only provide food on the table. But they gave me the knowledge of where to go to get myself back up on my feet. With plenty of food to get me through a month. I had a job in the community as a nurse within a week of their services. They truly care, and shared their resources to help. Now, it's time to give back. 

I became a BeautiControl Consultant to help those who not only want that privacy in their own home to relax after a hard day. I also help Women and Men to decrease their stress, and look sharp for that interview that is coming upon them. It may be the only job they can take at this time, so they too can provide for their family. I give them a complete makeover and helpful tips on presentation to make that first impression and hopefully obtain that job, to put food on the table, pay their rent or house payment, or even their electric bills. Giving back to those in need. Nothing fulfills the heart knowing you have helped someone in great need.

Living Healthy

Do you try your best to eat healthy? Do you still have problems losing the excess weight? Are you like me? Muffin top? Or do you have more to lose than a Muffin top? Either way? The goal is to be healthy. Not everyone has the ability to be supermodel skinny. In fact, if you are pushing yourself for that look? It's just unrealistic, and not healthy. 

Obesity is a growing epidemic. Our children sit around and play videos, eat unhealthy, and drink anything but water. Just with switching from soda to water, you can drop 10 pounds. Not that easy though. I know. I use to drink 8 bottles of Mt Dew a day. Never drank water for 8 years. Now? I cannot drink a full bottle of Mt Dew, and all I crave is water. 

With Visalus, the weight melts off. I am not able to workout due to severe back issues. I've been through physical therapy, and I'm not a candidate for surgery. At the age of 42, I've had my left knee replaced, and my health has deteriorated due to not being healthy. High blood pressure, Migraines, etc...

Random Act Of Kindness

The story of Christmas is one that is not only Beautiful, but Magical. I adore sitting around the Holidays and spreading my love of Christmas to my kids. I have children ages 21, 20, 17, 17, & 15... Two in college, and 3 at home. It's tradition to put the tree up and let the kids decorate while I write down things they would like for Christmas. 

Each year, my children take one gift and donate it to a charity. This year, as a family, we are going to donate money to the local food pantry. The children are hosting their own Personal Spa, taking all their profits, and will have a check cut for the local Wentzville Food Pantry. I thought that was such a nice idea, that my BeautiControl team is going to do a similar project for Christmas. 

The kids have decorated the tree. It's beautiful as always. They have chosen to sell BC Nail Polish and Makeup. I look forward to their desire to help our local community.

I'm Back!

Loving My Life

Do you ever stop to think about everything that you have, and about what you don't have? I do. There is so much to be thankful for. The Lord will never give you more than you can handle, but he does want you to appreciate life. 

I am a lucky person. I have 3 beautiful children. I have an awesome husband. Through everything, we are a family going strong. There are always ups and downs, but I'm thankful for everything we have went through. 

Absolutely, I am thankful for the family support of my 2 private businesses. I wouldn't be where I am with BeautiControl and BodyByVi, without their support. I am grateful. 

I'm thankful for my clientele. For giving me just one chance to come out, and show them a nice relaxing time with BeautiControl. Results are instant to see that night. Pampering

Everyone needs to be pampered. However, the solution is cost savings. For example: I pampered myself and my husband on products that I have had with one refill over a 12month period. Listen up, because we all need to take a day, sit back, and pamper ourselves. Why? Today's world. I'll explain.

Yesterday, I called my husband and asked what time he would be home. Told him we were going to pamper. He said that sounded good. We have both been working over time, and these days, times are different. 

With winter quickly upon us. It's time to stay on top of your skin. Skin is your first line of defense. Keep it moisturized, and wash your hands frequently. Use the Mani system so they don't crack open. Cracked skin leads to open areas retrieving those pesky bugs into the skin. 

I used the BC Exfoliating Body System, and Exfoliation Face System. All in the shower. Watch the dead skin fall off your body. Takes 15min to Exfoliate. 

As I dried off, I moisturized with Detox Body Creme. Get those toxins out of my skin, and wrapped up with a nice fuzzy warm body suit. Let my body Detox. 

While my body was Detoxing, I gave myself a Pedi. That included the Pedi Program, with the Creme for my feet placed and cling wrap around my feet and my W.H.O. Socks. While all wrapped up, before starting my Mani, I started showing my husband how to pamper himself. 

He likes baths. So I ran the bath water, placed in 2tsps of Detox and 2tsps of Therapeutic Minerals. He was sore and very cold from a hard days work. He lavished in the bath. 

I began my Mani. Simple process with BC that takes 5min. Taking off the dead, dry skin, from nursing all weekend. We have to wash our hands before entering and after leaving. Using the BC Hand Treatment daily. The BC Mani being used twice a week to keep my hands looking younger and free from cracking open. Then I applied the Extreme Hand Treatment. 

As my husband finishes up. He places on the BC Detox Body Creme. Wraps up in his robe, and we sit and visit over a beer. Letting our body just detox over a period of an hour. We then wipe our bodies down with a towel and spray on the Detox Body Mist. Very refreshing and cooling to the body. Making our night very calm and relaxed. 

This is such an important part of our week. It's time for us to spend some peaceful time together. Relax, and just talk. These days and times are tough. It's important to communicate and slow down the hectic pace you have faced all day. Maybe all week. Pick just two days a week to pamper. Stop the time, and communicate.
